Lost in Found 3 – The Lie Stays

January 10, 2017 · 2 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I’m so sorry this is late today. Please find this week’s storisode below: (Please find storisodes 1 and 2 if you missed it).

Chudi: How is she?
Chidubem: Pretty good. Fully functional. Besides the memory loss -which works out in your favor- She’s a 90%
Chudi:Yes! I told you everything will be okay!
Chidubem: Husband? Really?
Chudi: Guy what was I supposed to you? You saw her! She looked like she was about to run out of here! I had to say something to stop her! How was I suppose to know she would faint?
Chidubem: I get it but husband? Why couldn’t you tell her your were the psychologist studying her case? What if she’s already married?
Chudi: She’s not! Besides if I did, she’d want to leave the first chance she got. At least this way I can keep here till the end of my research

Dubs shook his head as he made his way towards his car. I walked behind him silent. I didn’t care what I had to do to keep her here. I didn’t spend millions to just let her walk out once she was better. I am going to do it whatever it takes to get what I need.

Chidubem: She has questions
Chudi: Doesn’t every female?
Chidubem: She seems very smart. She wanted to know more about the accident and the extent of her injuries… She asked me how we knew each other. Guy, I don’t know about this your lie oo…
Chudi: Leave that to me. While you were examining here, I went on bellanaija and read some wedding stories. She’ll want to know how we met, how I purposed, trips we’ve taken together. Mushy shit like that. I got it covered.
Chidubem: So you’re sticking with this your lie?
Chudi: Yup. The lie stays!
Chidubem: What if you’re not her type?
Chudi: What? How?
Chidubem: Have you considered the fact that she may be married to someone else or that you may not be her cup of tea?
Chudi: I’m one of the most eligible bachelors in Lagos! Rich, handsome, great body, a doctor-
Chidubem: A PhD, that’s not the same thing
Chudi: A doctor, did I say RICH? What Naija girl wouldn’t want to be married to me?
Chidubem: Just leave me out of it. Okay? Lemme know if you need anything..

He got into his 2016 Range Rover. Started the engine and looked at me with a smile

Chidubem: To think just this morning, I was telling you to give up. I’m really happy for you man. Be good to her. Have a good night.
Chudi: Thanks man! For everything. Safe

I watched him leave and made my way back to the house. I know I should be nervous but seriously, the worst was over. She’s awake! To hell with Dubs and his what-ifs! All women are the same. Now all I have to do is tell her what she wants to hear until I complete my study and I’ll be home free.

I entered the house only to find the subject of my thoughts sitting in my living room with a very serious look on her face.

Her: “What was our first fight about?”

Thank you so much for reading! Enjoy the rest of your week!

Thank you for sharing this chapter with us!

Have you considered having the book, after publishing, be converted to a short film?

Girl, my goal is to keep writing and see what happens…. My prayers is that the shy is the limit! I trust God to take my work to all ends of the earth and beyond 😉
