The Wawa-New Yorker

Testimony

(Originally written – December 1, 2014)

Right after Thanksgiving, I received a letter from my old job. I opened it and found a check. When I saw the time period it covered (Nov 9-Nov 22, 2014) I thought, “This is a mistake… I wasn’t even there at that time”. I spoke to my brother about it and he asked, “When are we cashing it?” I told him I am going to call on Monday to find out why I received the check and return it if it was a mistake. He looked at me as if I had 6 heads and then said “ok”.

Monday morning, I called the office where I worked but no one answered. I thought “this is God telling me ‘this is your money my daughter, cash the check'”. Then I texted one of my friend’s who still worked there and explained the situation. His reply, “Take it and run!!!” then he advised that there was no one in from the senior management team. So I decided to call HR. Again, I thought, “gurl, this is God telling you to keep this money”. Again I ignored it.

When I called HR and explained my situation, the lady on the phone was confused. She asked me 3 times if I meant to say that the check was incomplete and not I did not deserve the check. I laughed and explained again then she forwarded my call to payroll.

The man at Payroll explained that the Union I was in during my time there argued and won a case. As a result, employees that worked during that time were paid a retroactive fee. He then said, “no wonder you don’t work here no more, you are too honest for this place”. I laughed, thanked him, ended the call and shouted THANK YOU JESUS.

I say all this to say, GOD IS GREAT. I do NOT know what possessed me to want to return that check! I AM NOT BALLING LIKE THAT YET! Trust me, I can come up with 10 million things I could use the funds for on the spot LOL. Now that I know that this money is mine, I will spend it HAPPILY without worrying if the US government will arrest me one day for theft.

Lastly, I will like to take this time to thank everyone God has put in my life for the way you all have raised me… For someone “with no home training” I think I do quite alright (if I do say so myself) =D

Thank you for reading!

Love always,

It’s hard to come by knowledgeable people in this

I think what you said made a lot of sense. But,
think on this, suppose you wrote a catchier post title?
I mean, I don’t wish to tell you how to run your blog,
but suppose you added a post title that grabbed folk’s attention? I mean #1 – Testimony |
Confessions of A Wawa New-Yorker is kinda boring.
You might look at Yahoo’s front page and note how they create news headlines to grab viewers to
click. You might add a related video or a related picture or two to get people excited about everything’ve written.
Just my opinion, it might bring your posts a little livelier.
