I don’t “Dear Future Husband”

June 24, 2015 · 14 Comments

Happy Hump Day People! I hope you are having an amazing (and productive) week thus far! Okay so, I was “concentrating” on my work, minding my business when I received a watsapp message from a good friend of mine. It read “Dear Future husband, I ran 2 miles this morning. You’re welcome.” I replied “lmao! please eh, no too vex, but what does your workout have to do with my future in law?” Her response, “well not everyone likes working out like you. I am doing it to keep my body tight for his bragging rights.” (I only have permission to share to this point of our … [Read more...]

Happy Friday Beautiful People!! You made it through another week - HOLLER!!!!!! Okay so quick question - have you ever stopped to think of what the people in your life “truly” think of you? Asin, if I asked someone (who really knows you) what he/she had to say about you, can you confidently say you’ll get a thumbs up? Curious as to why this piqued my interest? In the words on Kevin Hart ‘let me explain...’ I met up with one of my dear friends for drinks after work last night at Skyroom (on W 40th between 8th and 9th Avenue). We were catching up on what's been … [Read more...]

Previously, power bills were generated after “technicians” went door to door to read meters to identify the amount of power you utilized in a month. Now, it’s a pay-as-you-go system whereby customers purchase meter-credit and you have power (when there isn’t outage) until your credit runs out. Okay so, I went down to the office at … [Read more...]

RELOADED

May 15, 2015 ·

HELLO PEOPLE!!!! Miss me? Lol! I know I disappeared last month. Forgive me… I'm happy to report that I am back again to disappear no more! HOLLER! Lol! Okay so, when I started this blog, I honestly had no vision for it. I like telling stories and I love to write. So I created this blog as a platform to do so. With time, I realized, the problem of not having a clear vision of my own is: I started to listen to (and even depend on) the advice of everyone else. BIG MISTAKE! Eventually, all the shoulda woulda coulda got to me. I regretted creating this blog and … [Read more...]

Taking it Small By Small

April 11, 2015 · 8 Comments

Hello Everyone, I hope all is well with you all. Okay so, my boss and I were walking back from a meeting earlier yesterday when she commended me. She said I did a good job with my presentation and I speak eloquently. I thanked her while thinking to myself: I have come a long way baby... When I moved back to the U.S. after high school, my vocabulary was very poor. I spoke very good Basic English but that was it. My mentality was this – as long as I understood you and you me that was enough. No need for too much grammar. Until... One of our family friends … [Read more...]
